Gooood Morning and Happy Monday to you!!
Well both my girls are off on excursions today and both needing a camera so it’s a good thing that my new Samsung Galaxy Camera arrived this morning! It’s pretty cool, has lots of neat functions I’ll have to play with learn and you can pop a sim card in there too so uploading photo’s and sharing on facebook etc is gunna be so so easy – it will be perfect for Convention in May!
This week’s Monday Makes is another sketch … and its created by the very lovely Libby ….
Now I dont know how long I deliberated over this sketch then I got to thinking those flowers dont really need to be ‘flowers’ as such and moved away from patterned paper for the base and here is what I came up with …
I did have fun with this card and there are a few elements to it!
My black background is done by inking up the Beautiful Baroque embossing folder with the Illuminate ink and running it through the Big Shot on Basic Black cardstock. I just love this technique and I love trying different inks and this one cam out pretty cool – it has a slight shimmer so its all adds to the elegance of this card.
My Baroque panel is the same technique except this time I used the Encore Silver Metallic pad on Very Vanilla so again it adds to the elegance and it turned out perfect.
Now the two flowers … this seemed like a good idea at the time …. They are stamped in Black and Clear Embossed … yes each layer … yes there are two so yup that means I stamped and embossed 6 medallions and then cut them all out! It’s also not until you get to the last piece of cutting that you say to yourself ‘what was I thinking’ but in saying that the dimension and the embossing really makes this that little bit extra special!
I do hope you like my card and be sure to hop over to Libby’s Blog to see her card for this sketch.
Have a wonderful Monday and thanks for stopping by …
